Sardar Faiz Tamman, a PML-N candidate who was contesting the by-elections from NA-65 constituency has unexpectedly withdrawn his name.

The NA-65 constituency fell vacant when PML-Q candidate Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi was elected as the Speaker of Punjab Assembly. There were speculations that Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain would be contesting from this constituency in the by-elections however later it was announced that Chaudhary Salik Hussain, son of Chaudhary Shujaat will contest instead.

The withdrawal of PML-N candidate has not settled well with the local leaders as the candidates believe that they imposed their trust in Sardar Faiz Tamman and gave him a new political life.

According to Sardar Faiz Tamman, the support for him got weaker and he could not contest on his own therefore he opted to withdraw from the elections.

Since the withdrawal of the candidate, there are strong chances that PML-Q will emerge victorious from this constituency.
